I've been knitting on the facing ~ the first part of a year long journey
I've noticed a feeling of calm and peace as the stitches go from one needle to the other
My mother passed away in 1960 when I was a little girl
Throughout the 50 plus years I have felt her presence from time to time
I know she's watching the knitting I'm doing
I like to believe she'd be proud

The Road Less Taken
I am embarking on a year long journey...over the Road Less Taken. During 2011 I will knitting a cape filled with boxes, cables, bobbles...and who knows what else.
This will be a journey of self-discovery...
The knitted cape, accompanied by socks, gauntlets, hats and scarves will be a heirloom to be passed down to future generations.
Growing up we were told we had Irish blood running through our veins...
When I delved into our genealogy I could find no Irish but Scottish...
I say that is close enough...
Afterall, we were raised as though the blood was Irish, why should wording on a piece of paper change that...for my children and I it doesn't, we are Irish through and through
